Johntavious is a Licensed Master Social Worker. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 2019 with degrees in Social Work and Public Health. During his graduate education, he interned with the Department of Family and Children Services in Hall County, and Summit Ridge’s IOP program in Athens, GA. After graduation, Johntavious has provided counseling services in the home, worked with families in palliative care and hospice, incarcerated individuals, counseled and supported individuals diagnosed with substance use disorders, and worked in treatment courts and as a part of treatment court teams. He works with children, adolescents, and adults.
Johntavious’ counseling style is based on assisting clients improve motivation and learning new coping skills to help them overcome their symptoms and the issues leading to them. He utilizes motivational interviewing, solution-based therapy, and CBT and DBT interventions to help clients work to improve their lives.
Johntavious is practicing under the supervision of Shelley Northrup, LPC, CPCS.
