Kim Walker, LMSW

I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, and I believe one of the most important parts of therapy is having a space where you can genuinely feel heard, understood, and comfortable being yourself.

I know that reaching out for support isn’t always easy. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, family challenges, low self-esteem, emotional or behavioral concerns, or simply feeling overwhelmed by what life has brought your way, my goal is to meet you where you are. I also have experience working with children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and supporting their emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs.

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and strengths-based. I don’t believe therapy should look exactly the same for everyone. You bring your own experiences, personality, values, strengths, and goals into the room, and I believe our work together should reflect that. Depending on your needs, I may incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), solution-focused techniques, psychoeducation, and practical strategies for coping and emotional regulation.

In our sessions, I want you to feel like you have someone in your corner. We’ll make space for the difficult things, but we’ll also recognize what’s already working, build on your strengths, and develop practical tools you can carry with you outside of the therapy room. For parents and families, I strive to create that same sense of partnership as we work together to better understand your child’s needs and support meaningful growth.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Georgia State University and my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Walden University. My experience includes outpatient and community-based mental health, school-based counseling, and acute inpatient behavioral health, which has allowed me to work with people from many different backgrounds and at many different points in their lives.

Most importantly, I want therapy to be a place where you don’t feel like you have to have everything figured out before you walk through the door. We can start exactly where you are and work together toward where you want to be.

I am working under the supervision of Charlotte Hurt, LCSW.
