Kolby Sanchez, APC

Kolby is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor practicing at the Sharpsburg location. She graduated from Troy University with her Bachelors in Psychology (and a minor in Health Promotion), and received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from LaGrange College. She sees adults, adolescents, and children in individual therapy; and specializes in depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, mood disorders, psychosis-related disorders, intermittent explosive disorder, and adjustment disorders.

She uses a motivational interviewing approach with an emphasis on collaboration between the client and counselor, meeting the client where they are in each session. Throughout sessions, she provides psychoeducation based on her clients’ needs, focusing on empowering them to cope with daily stressors in a healthy and productive manner. She enjoys working toward and watching her clients become their best selves. She engages by using approaches from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, Logotherapy (finding meaning), and Internal Family Systems. Kolby works from a holistic perspective with the belief that our physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and relational health are all interconnected; and encourages continual self-care and improvement in all areas. She is also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a psychotherapy technique to further assist clients in healing from traumatic events and adverse experiences.

Kolby is practicing under the supervision of Susan Marshall, LPC, CPCS.
